It can be overwhelming to know what to do when you’re looking for a job. Especially when you’ve been impacted by a layoff. This article walks through a series of steps from setting priorities to updating your profile to preparing stories for your job interviews.

Identify Your Priorities

Use this exercise to help you set priorities for what you want in your next role:
1️⃣ Make a list out of everything important to you in a job
2️⃣ Include everything: money, flexibility, location, and who you work with
3️⃣ Resist the urge to edit or judge yourself 
4️⃣ rank order your list. "This even over this..."

When you do this, you'll recognize where you can draw a line between "must have" and "nice to have." As you encounter opportunities, use this list to make sense of how they fit what you need.
