“I've talked to a lot of smart people as the host of the WorkMinus podcast. Karen was one of the best guest speakers I've spoken with. I walked away with a lot of things from that conversation. The story she told about how we are unintentionally sabotaging our culture has been haunting me ever since! She has helped me think differently about how we shape culture in organizations and on teams.”

"I brought Karen to give a keynote on culture at my annual International Meeting. I knew Karen would help our employees think differently about culture and help me build momentum to transform our culture. Her talk was engaging, passionate, research based and challenged everyone's thinking. I've heard Karen talk many times and each time, she builds new ideas and gives you the practical steps forward. The employees loved the talk and many lined up to talk directly with her. She helped change the way we think about culture. Employees view it as a priority and still make references to her talk."

We were an eclectic group of digital professionals with backgrounds ranging from sales, e-commerce, content, data science, product management, and others. We were also coming together for the first time. Karen did a phenomenal job of facilitating a session for us. She helped us identify our strengths/opportunities, and action plan a commitment to work together. While the group was large, the feeling was intimate thanks largely to how she ran the session.

Speaker testimonial 1
I first met Karen when she presented at an L&D industry event. She was selected to prepare a TED-style talk. In her talk, she delighted the crowd with a "spaghetti or waffles" approach to attacking a challenging problem: a problem that's seemingly complex and tangled like spaghetti, can often be broken down into smaller units like a waffle. That's where problem solving begins. The metaphor was so simple and familiar, and therefore memorable (and effective). Having had the opportunity to work with Karen more, I now know this moment perfectly typifies her straightforward, clear, and wonderfully human approach to her work.

“Woooooooow…the way Karen makes us travel to understand the concepts of Trust, Accountability, and Transparency concepts is amazing! Goosebump session!”
~HR Leader, GE Africa
Karen delivered a powerful message that was not only useful, but also inspiring! She explained how storytelling could be used in our leadership roles as a method to connect to, develop and motivate our teams. The way she broke it down and shared real-life examples was very engaging and effective. I’m inspired to minimize the bullet points moving forward with my team and apply her method which I’ve already started doing. After all, she’s right… emotions cause changes in behavior, not information. Brilliant!
